Call Stations
òLocate Call Stations for Ease of Use
Like an elevator, call
stations are located at each landing.á Calling is done by constant pressure
buttons.á Call stations may be located in the
door frame of the lift enclosure or in the door or gate frame.á However, if the door or gate has a
power door opener the call station must be located away from the door
swing.á Also, if a ramp is
used at the lower landing, the call station should be located away
from the ramp and door swing.

òKeyed or Keyless
Note that many
jurisdictions now allow use of lifts with no keys.á This option is available from most
manufacturers.á Keyless operation, if desired,
should be stated in the spec.
